You can verify that a document signed with Xodo Sign has not been altered or tampered with since signing. There are two ways to do this.

Option 1: Verify within Xodo Sign (recommended)

  1. Log in to your Xodo Sign account.
  2. Go to your Documents list.
  3. Click on the completed document to open it in the viewer.
  4. The Signature Panel will show the verification status, including the signature date and validity confirmation.

Option 2: Verify using Adobe Reader

After downloading the completed PDF, open it in Adobe Acrobat Reader. The signature panel will show a status indicator:

  • Green checkmark — The document was signed correctly and has not been modified since signing. This is the original version.
  • Orange warning sign — The document was slightly modified after signing (e.g., annotations or highlights were added). It may still be legally valid but cannot be guaranteed identical to the original signed version.
  • Red X — The signature is invalid. Someone attempted to edit or remove the signature in a way that broke the document's write-lock. The document is no longer legally binding.
